1080 SPEED BELT is a remote-controlled device for assisted sprint training. The function is simple – Trap the 1080 Sprint cord in the belt unit and perform an assisted sprint. At the defined release point, the coach will release the cord by clicking the handheld remote control. Once released, the athlete can continue sprinting unassisted and try to maintain the speed reached during the assisted pull. Safety is also improved since once released, the cord will pull away from the athlete and thereby eliminate the risk of entanglement.
1080 SPEED BELT is designed for assisted sprints only with a maximum assisted pull of 10 kg. Do not use it for resisted sprints as the pulling force may damage the unit.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
1080 SPEED BELT is an electronic battery-powered device that may not work as expected at all times. A manual Velcro backup release must always be used in conjunction with 1080 SPEED BELT. The manual option gives the athlete a safe alternative way of releasing from the 1080 Sprint pull.
Assisted sprinting is associated with risk for injury and should only be performed by coaches and athletes who are qualified for this type of training.
WARNING! RISK FOR INJURY. CAREFULLY READ ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE.
- Assisted sprint training is associated with injury risks from muscle tears, falling and entanglement. NEVER perform overspeed training with athletes who are not in adequate physical form. Train at your own risk.
- ALLOW athletes and coaches to practice the assisted sprint procedure at lower speeds and efforts for proper familiarization before max efforts are attempted.
- ALWAYS use a manual Velcro release in combination with the 1080 Motion Remote Release Belt. This will provide a back-up release function in the event of an accidental power switch-off, drained battery or malfunction.
- MAKE SURE to allow for plenty of safety distance between point of release and the 1080 Sprint system. Minimum 25 meters is recommended.
- NEVER stick anything other than the rope loop into the belt unit latch mechanism. The mechanism has a closing/opening force of around 30kg and you can be seriously injured if the mechanism is not treated properly.
- MAKE SURE you keep the belt device charged as much as possible before each use.
- REFRAIN from using the device if the state of charge is at or below 25% as this increases the chance that the device will shut off.
- DO NOT leave the device unattended when charging.
- NEVER operate the device if damaged or malfunctioning.
- ONLY use the device for assisted sprints with a maximum pulling force of 10kg. It is NOT designed for resisted sprints.
