1080 Sprint - How it works with an athlete to increase speed.

1080 Sprint | How it works

Setting Load

This can be done in small increments of resistance or assistance up to a maximum of 30kg (66 lbs) applied simply with the touch screen.

Variable Loading

The system uses intelligent, variable resistance technology with the ability to preset load that changes smoothly from heavy to light or light to heavy within a single sprint or other movement.

1080 Load Options

Select between three different modes how the 1080 Sprint reacts under load.

Isotonic – The load will be constant independent of acceleration and deceleration minimizing inertia.

Normal – Mimics inertia of regular mass throughout acceleration and deceleration.

No Flying Weight (NFW) – During fast movements that require explosive changes in direction, a natural sense of inertia will be present, but without line slack during transition and deceleration phases. Unique and highly useful mode for sports training.

Speed Limits

Set speed restriction for both Resisted and Assisted directions of movement. Useful for a range of applications such as sprints or providing isokinetic strengthening during rehab.

Speed

Example of a typical sprint speed graph showing the cyclical stride by stride nature of the movement plotted over time or distance on the X axis. Shown in picture, three different sprints with different loads.

You can also plot force, power and acceleration.

Auto Distance Setting

Auto distance is a quick and easy way to record a sprint test. Simply select the desired distance and let the athlete start from where they stand. Automatically triggers measurement on the athlete’s movement when speed reaches 0.2 m/s. Highly useful method for testing short distances (e.g. 5 meter acceleration) with very high reliability and reproducibility.

Load Velocity Profiling (L/V)

Load Velocity profiling is used to assess the athlete’s speed response under different loads. This is useful to compare and contrast an athlete’s performance over time or between a group athletes in a group. 1080 Sprint allows profiling of sprints as well as other movements such as vertical jumps, horizontal jumps and trunk rotations. Measuring single limb movements enables comparison between right and left performance.

Left And Right Symmetry Testing

Testing specific muscle groups on both the right and left hand side of the body is shown here. Settings can be applied to test either the concentric or eccentric phase of the movement.

Change Of Direction (CoD)

Gain visibility into the different phases (i.e. acceleration, deceleration and re-acceleration) to understand athlete’s ability to move and guide individualized training.
