Resisted training with a horizontal load has positive effects on sprint performance in professional and semiprofessional rugby players. Resisted sprint training with a constant load (13% of body weight) yielded positive effects on a number of factors, with the most important being an improved acceleration from a static start. These are important findings considering that these athletes are at a high level.
