Top Speed
Update to version: 6.2.6.0 and 6.2.7.0
Top Speed
Published Nov 28, 2023
In this software update, we have added a new speed tracking feature: Top Speed
This release introduces the new “Top Speed” concept:
- Top Speed represents the fastest speed attained throughout the entire run/skate/swim movement filtering the peak and valleys of the velocity curve.
- Calculated at the time of running and stored separate from the split setting.
- 5m (or 5 yd) splits are not used to measure a peak or average speed, instead using advanced signal processing to calculate the current speed at any given time of the rep.
- Measures top speed regardless of how long the run/skate/swim movement is performed.
- User can modify or remove the split of a run without affecting the top speed value.
- Improves the ability to compare runs using a speed metric.
The data used to calculate top speed can be visually shown in the app: Plot the run you want to look at and make sure you are plotting Speed as Y value. Then open View Settings and enable “Smooth Speed Curve”. A bold dot displays top speed along the “Smooth Speed Curve.”
Note: Best 5m (or 5yd) splits are still calculated, but only on runs longer than 20m. They are shown in the UI as ‘Split speed.’ Peak speed is removed from the split calculation.
2. View position and time when the top speed of a linear run is reached (distance from the start of the run)
Other improvements and fixes:
3. It’s now possible to connect/disconnect machines to bluetooth connection after logging in. Machine connect/disconnect is available in a menu in the title bar (next to the sync status icon)
4. Sync status icon updated to minimize the yellow “you have unsynced changes” all the time.
